The traditional vermillion orange red is extracted from the seeds of Anato (Sindhoor Plant) which has been used for centuries as tilak and for dyeing clothes in our ancient cultures. The dyes are rich and bright colorants that add the touch of color space to the clothing and is also used as natural color for lipsticks in natural cosmetics. Dyes such as Anato are produced in the Eastern Ghats which go to waste due to non usage and the lost knowledge of dyeing with Anato seeds. We aim to revive the art of dyeing with these plant bad s dyes which has been forgotten for centuries due to introduction of synthetic chemical dyes. We curated these gouramma wooden sets made with natural turmeric lac with turned wood. When this order came the conversation we had is something that stuck with us as these are pre ordered for celebrating girl child. There were no fixed delivery date hence we were curious why someone would order even before the ceremony had a date. The mom of the child told us that during this time she wanted to spend with her child, be with her all times. Pre ordering and keeping things ready would create a sense of peace and reduce stress and hassle and more importantly being able to be with her daughter was her priority 🌷
