BEHIND THE BRAND

As one walks in, a thatched shelter, with a wooden table displaying Sankalpa’s wares catches the attention. Terracotta reds and the Etikoppaka riot of colours vie for attention along with the handloom cloth and other products. Beyond the shed is the stretch of the nursery, where a wide variety of plants present a canopy of green.

A concept that began to operate four years ago, the seed of the idea was sown much before that. “We came here from Rajahmundry and have been managing a nursery since 1997. With the zeal for making herbal dyed fabrics, we've started to look for artisans doing that craft i.e weaving, natural handlooms, wooden handcrafts. Through this journey, we came across various challenges that's when we dreamed, dreamed about reviving the indigenous art and crafts that at the verge of dying.  Since then we created a platform for women and dropouts to learn these skills and bring them out in the world. this space where we work to make our dreams into reality. We are Sankalpa Art Village".
