The ancient knowledge of transferring healing properties from herbs to clothing “Ayurvastra” is still practiced in parts of Andhra Pradesh Like Kalamkari in Kalahasthi, Chirala , Ponduru , Visakhapatnam where these dyes are extremely from herbs like Manjistha, Indigo, Myrobalan and many flower dyes to add color and appealing patterns to the textiles.

“ My first time dyeing with natural dyes” said Shradha @bungalowyarn and that’s just the moment we knew that our learning together will lead somewhere.. doing something impactful. The first time I met her she did not care for the the place being new to her and the people being strangers she just started talking to Hema as if she already knew here and started to get to work teaching Hema embroidery stitches and that is when I thought working with people with the same frequencies will boost the potential of what an individual can achieve by themselves 🌱. We made 40 sets of Lac Turned Toys which has been the 400 year old craft of Andhra Pradesh where artisans tune wood using lathe and color the wooden with lac finish and the colors mixed in the lac are from turmeric for yellow, Sindhoor seeds for reds and orange indigo for blues and greens and we take pride in making them at SAV.

When our client @prathyushadoodles came to us with a brief of designing this return gift for their House warming we were elated with joy as we had been dreaming of making these bowling pins for a long time and with this we had the opportunity to design the packaging and a completely new and fun return gift for our client. This idea of gifting is so mindful @heypratss and we are truly grateful 🌿

The Weave, The Loom
Ampolu a small handloom cluster in Srikakulam is a rich handloom village. A happenstance to the village with @_jaswant3 the artist @chetan_kommireddi documenting the craft and artisans @saimoments & @jdzamilia experiencing the local art. we came across the most intricate weaves and the sculpture from more than 1500 years at Sri Kurmam temple which @_jaswantveera portrayed on his canvas with natural indigo. We picked a few weaves for our sample collection and we are thrilled to announce our temple series soon to launch 🔱

A happenstance to the village with @_jaswant3 the artist @chetan_kommireddi documenting the craft and artisans @saimoments & @jdzamilia experiencing the local art. we came across the most intricate weaves and the sculpture from more than 1500 years at Sri Kurmam temple which @_jaswantveera portrayed on his canvas with natural indigo. We picked a few weaves for our sample collection and we are thrilled to announce our temple series soon to launch 🔱
